Life with a Norton

Life with a Norton

Active ImageWhen Bill Anderson (Noisy Norton) first bought his Norton, he never thought he'd be still running around with it after 40 years.  In fact, the picture at the left was taken with his wife in 1974.

Well...after many years of tweaking and care, they are both in good shape.  His Norton is not only still running well, it arguably the fastest un-blown gas pushrod 500 in America.  Bill and his bike are the current land speed record holders at El Mirage dry lake at 129.917 MPH.

Hybrid Cafe

A Hybrid Cafe Racer?  Yes indeed!!!Active Image

What happens when you take a 1978 CB750 rolling chassis, throw in a 200cc single and a 3500 watt, 48 volt DC traction motor?  You get a very unique, very fun and very cool Hybrid Cafe Racer.

When John Gustafson (member: Intrubble) was creating his cafe racer, his goal was simple.  John wanted to build something that could perform like a bike with a higher displacement, while achieving the economy of a bike with a smaller displacement.  Build quality, function and aesthetics were also of utmost importance to John.  The performance goals have been met, so now John is focusing on the aesthetics.

While the bike nears completion, you can follow along with the build, read more about the custom parts, specs and upcoming design changes.  Click here to read along and see more pictures.
